On Holy Monday we remember Joseph, the son of Jacob, who was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. After much suffering, there came triumph for him in Egypt. Holy Friday is the day of Crucifixion and the death of Christ and His burial in the tomb.

Each year on the occasion of Good Friday, our faithful offer the names of departed loved ones to be commemorated before the Funeral Bier of our Lord (Epitaphio).

April 8 Pascha
Agape Service    (12 Noon)

And so the great drama of our salvation unfolds before us. Rather, we relive this drama here and now! This is the essence and the meaning of the Christian year! We are part of this drama! Christ speaks to us now! Christ suffers for us now! Christ dies for us now! Christ is entombed for us and we visit His grave! Let us take our place in this act of faith! It concerns us! It is our only hope and joy! It is only after all this that we can shout forth on the day of the Resurrection:

CHRIST IS RISEN
